san antonio bound!

i woke up before the crack of dawn and headed to walmart to find some floaties for brandon and caleigha, snacks for the road trip, and a new swimsuit coverup for me. ended up going to 2 walmarts, cvs, and walgreens. no luck on the floaties. i went back to the house to pick up crystal and the kids, and we went to target. it must have been meant to be because there were only two left! so i grabbed them and we got on on i-10 heading west!

just past katy, we encountered this:

small trucks pulling small trailers with BIG bales of hay make me nervous. amazing that JUST AFTER crystal snapped this picture, that tire blew and that truck was swerving all over the road. i almost wet myself. talk about scary. thank goodness my mini has get up & go, and it went!

we arrived in san antonio without any other major issues. we drove by the alamo and then decided to park and go see it. it still amazes me how the alamo is just sitting right in the middle of downtown. and i guess i'm still surprised how small it is in stature.

after walking around the alamo complex, we decided it was time to eat lunch. we stopped at pat o'briens. even though we had a hat on brandon, and he was dressed cool, he got really over heated. i had to strip him down and let him drink an ice-y bottle of water. it was a little scary because it took him a while to cool down. at this point, we were all looking forward to getting to the hyatt so we could all cool off in the lazy river!

after our yum lunch, we headed to the hyatt. after a small detour, we FINALLY arrived. as you can see, little caleigha was making the moves on brandon. we're going to have to get separate rooms next time! ha ha

these two are the happiest babies ever!

after we got settled in, we got everyone dressed and sunscreened and headed out to the lazy river. my big kids were so excited. i was even more so when i realized jared could actually stand up the entire way around! it was brandon's first time to go swimming!

after playing in the water for a little while, i checked the big kids into camp hyatt. they were so excited. they had seen the other kids last year when we brought them here, and they wanted to go! i went back to the lazy river, and crystal and i and the babes floated around for a few more hours. we decided to get cleaned up and have a nice dinner. while we were getting ready, we let brandon and caleigha play together. these pictures crack me up!

dinner was yum! i still can't believe i ate a whole pound of fajitas!

after dinner we walked around the grounds of the hotel. it was nice to just stroll around and visit. we talked about all sorts of silly girl stuff. we found the blue bell ice cream stand and we got some ice cream before going to pick up jared and lauren. it was still so warm outside, so it was a nice little treat!

definitely a great day for all. we were all exhausted and passed out pretty quickly.
