grand central station

after a nice little a.m. nap and a phone call with my mom, brandon and i played in his room with some of his new toys. he started to get a little overwhelmed so i put him in his crib. he enjoyed looking at that little orange diamond for a long time! it's so funny how little things can hold their attention at this age!

he's starting to watch his mobile more now.
kicking his feet and making a few cooing noises!

brandon is just content with life! i love that he just goes with the flow! well, except when daddy called! i don't know why he got so bent out of shape. i had james on speakerphone so brandon could hear his voice and then brandon just burst out in tears. brandon really misses his daddy too!
but don't worry...this mad face didn't last too long! jimmy and melinda showed up and saved the day! jimmy played outside with the kids. he wanted a rematch with jared skywalker! there was a little bike riding and soccer practice too!

right after jimmy and melinda arrived, our sweet neighbors gary and diane came over to meet brandon. they also brought baby gifts for brandon. they got him a cute little boppy tummy time mat, a super plush turtle and a giraffe teething toy. i was so excited to get the smaller tummy time mat because it will be easier to travel with than the {skip*hop outer space} activity gym i purchased.

then leeann, isaiah, and caleb stopped by to invite us to their sunday church services. their church is putting on a huge {go western} day and they are having moonwalks, the armadillo art car and some other fun rodeo themed things. i would love to take the kids, but i'm not sure i'm adventurous enough to take three small kids all by myself!

charlie and his 3-legged dog annie stopped to visit for a second! i told melinda, "it's not always like this!!!" it's nice to know that my neighbors are looking out for me and the kids.

jimmy and the kids came in and we hung out in the front room and we visited while the kids played. we took turns passing brandon around. here's melinda holding the little guy! he looks so content!

we went to chili's for dinner. after three baskets of chips, salsa and skillet queso...we finally got our food. jimmy and i were the only ones with happy plates! ha ha. the kids weren't bad, but they certainly weren't on their super good behavior. jared fell out of his chair one time. poor jimmy had to hold lauren practically the whole meal. ack! i leaned over to melinda and was like, "can you believe i took all three of them to pappasito's last night?" ha ha. the margarita helped! after dinner, we came back to the house and melinda gave me a few lessons on photoshop! i am so excited to know how to use my program a little more!!!

thanks jimmy & melinda for coming over tonight, picking up dinner, and for keeping me company and giving me a hand with the hooligans! one day i will get you back!
